Fried Pickle Chips

Fried Pickle Chips

I got a deep fryer for christmas and I finally was able to use it and make some fried pickles! The deep fryer was only $10 from JC Penny–such a great deal! It works very well and its easy to use. However cleaning up is a little annoying. Anyways, the fried pickle chips turned out very delicious!

Things you’ll need:

  • Deep fryer (or you can use skillet)
  • Mixing bowls
  • knife and cutting board

fryer

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups pickles, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • Bread crumbs
  • Canola oil for frying
  • Creamy Ranch dressing (or whatever dressing you want to dip the chips in if you choose)

Directions:

  1. I started with slicing the pickles into “chips”. You can cut to whatever thickness you prefer, but make sure they aren’t too thin or else they’ll burn! Try to make them all about the same size so they fry evenly.
  2. Pour the canola oil into the deep fryer and set the degrees to 375.
  3. While the oil is heating, Mix together eggs, flour, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic power in a bowl and set aside. Pour the bread crumbs into another bowl.
  4. Dip a pickle “chip” into the egg mixture and then coat it in the bread crumbs. Do this for about 5-10 chips depending on how big the deep fryer/skillet is that you’ll be using.
  5. Drop the coated pickle “chips” into the deep fryer and fry for about two minutes. You can choose less or more time depending on how crispy you want them!
  6. I used cream ranch to dip them in, but you can choose whatever you like!

Enjoy!!
