Crab Rangoon Wontons

Crispy Fried Wonton!

The preparation for this Appetizer is simple! Just mixed all the ingredients, then place it on the wonton wrapper, seal it, and fry it! The crispy outside is a beautiful contrast to the warm smooth cream cheese crab filling inside!

Wonton

Ingredients:

  • Wonton Wrappers
  • deep fryer with canola oil
  • 5 ounces drained crab meat
  • 4 ounces cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 clove garlic,minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 green onion thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • sweet asian chili sauce (for dipping the wonton into)

Directions:

  1. Heat the deep fryer to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine and mix together the crab, cream cheese, green onion, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil.
  3. Place about 2 teaspoons full of the crab mixture into the center of each wonton wrapper. Seal by putting water along the edges of the wonton, and press to shut in the shape of a triangle. You can leave the wontons as a triangle or you can go a step further and press the far corners on the triangle together. (both ways are pictured above)
  4. Next, place 3-4 wontons at a time into the deep fryer, and fry until the outsides of the wrappers are golden and crispy! Remove from fryer and place on paper towel-lined plate to cool.
  5. Serve with sweet asian chili sauce to dip the wontons in!

Enjoy! I really loved the way these turned out!!

Asian Salmon

Asian Salmon

I’m a huge lover of Asian flavored food and Salmon, so I tried to make an Asian Salmon! It was a quick and easy fix as well. I just paired it with a salad, and loved the flavor from the baked salmon.

Things you’ll need:

  • Foil
  • Oven dish
  • Garlic press
  • Basting brush

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb Salmon (note: This is a lot of salmon and can serve 3-4 depending on how big you want the filets to be)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon Sriracha sauce, or add as much or little as you want depending on how spicy you want it!
  • pinch of black pepper to your taste
  • sesame seeds (optional)
  • green onions (optional)
  • sweet chili sauce (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F; While heating: combine the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, sriracha sauce, and pepper and mix.
  2. Prep the Salmon by cutting slits across the grain of the salmon, but be careful not to cut too deep into the skin of the salmon.
  3. Put the foil under the salmon and fold the four sides up surrounding the salmon. Place the salmon and foil in the oven dish. Pour the combined sauces over the salmon and fold the sides of the foil to completely cover the salmon.
  4. When oven is on 375, put the salmon in the oven for 15-25 minutes depending on the thickness of the salmon. check the salmon every 5 minutes an use the basting brush to cover the salmon with the juices. I usually tell that my salmon is finished when white stuff (fat) collects on top of the salmon.
  5. Once finished remove the pieces from the foil, and place on a plate. Scrap off the white fat, and garnish with sesame seeds, and green onions; If you want more asian flavor or spice (like me), add sweet chili sauce!

I love lots of flavor in my foods, so i decided to garnish my salmon with sesame seeds and sweet chili sauce! However, my boyfriend likes stuff a little more plain… so he left his without any garnishes and I swear before I even sat down to eat with him he had already finished eating it! So I’m assuming he liked it (:

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
